In case you haven't noticed, it's nearly impossible to get objective, competent investment advice from a "disinterested third party" at a reasonable cost.
Here's the problem: financial institutions (banks, brokerage firms, insurance companies) serve as the manufacturers, distributors, and advisors of the products they create. In our opinion, that is seriously messed up (imagine if your doctor were paid by a pharmaceutical company based on the number of pills that he prescribes you).
